These Terms govern your use of SplitTip (the "Service"), operated by Vaelo ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Who you are contracting with

You are contracting with Vaelo, the operator of SplitTip. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization. If you are using the Service as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction.

2. The Service

SplitTip is a tip calculator and bill-splitting tool. Premium features unlock saved trip history, itemized splits, multi-currency conversion, and CSV export. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within the plan you have purchased.

3. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the Service unlawfully or for fraudulent purposes;
• send spam or infringe anyone's intellectual-property rights;
• probe, scan, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the Service's security;
• upload malware or attempt to gain unauthorised access;
• reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service;
• circumvent any technical limits or paywalls.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all right, title, and interest in the Service, including the software, documentation, and branding. The trip data you create remains yours; you grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to provide the Service.

6. Service availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Payment, billing, and Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, taxes, cancellations, and refunds are governed by Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled via your account page or Paddle's customer portal. One-time lifetime purchases do not renew.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. On termination you may export your trip data as CSV for 30 days; after that we may delete it.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where prohibited by law.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service or breach of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the seller's jurisdiction. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email.
